Out on The PGA Tour with the SwingSmart

We just got done with two weeks on the road with the players on the PGA Tour and the slogan, “These guys are good”, is a bit of an understatement. They are great! Not just great players, but really great guys. They were very generous with their time and a lot of fun to work with.
The biggest takeaway I had from spending time with them was how much they are just like the rest of us. Let me clarify this. They obviously have a much different end goal in their game and they have to, as it pays the bills. Additionally, they certainly play the game at a different level. But when I say they are the same, I mean they really enjoy talking about golf, practicing golf, and working on things to make themselves better. That was really cool to see.
One of the things that they all work on to make themselves better is their putting. The numbers they put up on the SwingSmart are incredible. They just don’t change from putt to putt. We saw a player take over 30 putts in a compass drill (3-4-5 footers at the 4 points of the compass) and never have his face rotation change by more than 1 degree from address. Additionally, his Tempo was within .2 seconds of each other. It was very cool to see and made me realize how much of a difference great putting can make to your game.
My first suggestion for improvement, get some drills you like. Then start executing your putting stroke and see how solid your numbers are from putt to putt. Maybe just work on rotation one day, and tempo the next, but get them dialed in. It will go a long way to improving your score.
Thank you to everyone who has emailed us such great feedback. Please continue to keep it coming our way.
All the Best,
