Using the SwingSmart App

Q:  Is the SwingSmart App hard to use?

The App has large, clear buttons, and simple choices to make it very user friendly.

On the HOME screen, you can choose Training Mode or Swing Mode.

Use Training Mode when you wish to practice your swing without striking a ball.  Use Swing Mode when practicing with a ball.

Once you select either “Training” or “Swing” Mode, you will:

1.  Select your club, so that SwingSmart can log data based on the specific club chosen.

2. SWING

3. SEE the 4 key golf swing metrics clearly and simply displayed for you.

4. If the results were great, press SAVE AS BEST.

5. SWING.  Want to COMPARE that swing to your BEST for that club?  Press COMPARE.

6. Want to see your entire swing motion?  Press 3D Swing View.

We created the SwingSmart App for use on a range or course – so you could just SWING, SEE, and FIX your swing with ease.

Q: How do I save my “best swing”?

With the SwingSmart Free App, it's just a one-button touch, and the swing is automatically stored in your swing log as your best swing.

Q: Can I save a ‘best swing” for each club in the bag?

The SwingSmart Free App lets you save "your best swing" for every club in your bag.  Additionally, you can annotate any swing you take (i.e., hook, slice, new grip, flop shot, etc.).  Finally, you can take any swing in your swing log and email it to anybody you choose. If they have the free SwingSmart App on their Smartphone or tablet, they will be able to view your swing just like they were there with you.

Q: Do you provide guidelines of what a perfect golf swing is?

Our spokesman and PGA instructor Peter Kostis believes that there is not one perfect swing. He says that "there is not one swing for everybody, but everybody needs to develop one swing".  We do give you instructional videos and the guidelines of the motions that successful golfers do have as a starting point to help you develop "your best swing".

Q:  Is there a sample perfect swing on the Smart Swing?

There are samples of different professional swing motions on the SwingSmart App.  Much like we see on television and in the golf magazines, however, everyone needs to develop their own repeatable golf motion.

Q: Why does the golfer disappear when I replay my golf swing?

The SwingSmart sensor module attaches to your club and measures only the motion of your golf club and not the motion of the golfer. We included the 3D animated golfer in the graphics to make it easy for you to see the perspective you are viewing from, while in the 3D Swing View part of the SwingSmart Free App.

Q: How easy is the SwingSmart Free App to use? What if I have problems with the App?

The App was designed to be very simple to use. We wanted to make technology fans happy with the beautiful graphics and cutting edge technology – and we wanted those who are new to technology to be pleased with how easy the App loads and how easy it is to be up and running in minutes. If we do find any issues with the App, an update will provide the fix.

Q: How will I know if there are software updates?

The software updates will come right to your Smartphone or tablet just like every other App on your device. All you have to do is touch the App icon, enter your account, and then touch update next to the SwingSmart logo.

Q: How do I set up my iPhone/iPad to work with the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer?  What if the Bluetooth doesn’t sync?

The Bluetooth pairing for smartphones and tablets is a very easy process:

1. Make sure the SwingSmart sensor module is fully charged and turned on.

2. Turn on your iPhone or iPad, and go to your SETTINGS icon.

3. Find your BLUETOOTH section. Make sure Bluetooth is turned ON.

4. You will see the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer in your list of "DISCOVERABLE DEVICES".  It will say, "not paired". Touch that part of the screen and the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer will PAIR with your device. After that, the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer will automatically pair with your device every time you turn the SwingSmart sensor module on when your device is in range.

Q:  Is SwingSmart Golf Analyzer a launch monitor?

Launch monitors measure the ball and club interaction ONLY at impact.  SwingSmart Golf Analyzer is capturing your club’s position throughout your swing and providing 4 key statistics and a 3D view of your entire swing motion. SwingSmart also costs alot less!!!

Q:  What is the difference between Training Mode and Swing Mode?

The SwingSmart has the unique ability to allow you to work on your swing whether you are hitting golf balls or not hitting golf balls.  In Swing Mode, the SwingSmart requires you to hit a ball.  In Training Mode, YOU DO NOT have to hit a ball.  Just set up in your normal stance and golf position, take a swing and the SwingSmart will capture the data and allow you to see your result.  Peter Kostis recommended the development of Training Mode because it allows golfers to feel the golf motion without the pressure of moving the ball perfectly down the fairway or range. So, you can practice indoors or in areas where space is limited.

Q:  How easy is it to set up and use the App?

The App was designed to be very simple to use. We wanted to make both technology veterans and people who are new to technology happy with the SwingSmart App.  That’s why we combined beautiful graphics and cutting edge technology with an App that loads easily and is up and running in
minutes.

Q:  How can I tell when the app is ready for me to take a swing?

Please follow this process to ensure the app is ready to capture your swing.  First, select Swing Mode if you are hitting a ball or Training Mode if you are not hitting a ball.  Next, ensure the selected club is correct. Then, verify that SwingSmart is "listening" for swings, which is indicated by the blinking green ring around the golf ball in the upper right corner of the app.  Finally, make sure that you address the golf ball as you normally would before starting the backswing.

Q:  How will I know if there are software updates?

The software updates will come right to your smartphone or tablet just like every other App on your device. To update the app for iDevices, all you have to do is touch the App Store icon on your smartphone or tablet, enter your iTunes account password, and then touch update next to the SwingSmart™ Logo.

Q:  How can I get back to the page with all the app icons when I’m in the SwingSmart app?

No problem!  You can return to this “home” page with all your apps from anywhere just by pressing the round button at the button front of your device.

Q::Why does one club in my bag look like a ghost?

That’s the one you told SwingSmart you are using.

Q:  When I’m looking at a swing log, do I need to go back to the log to see my next swing?

Nope!  Just swipe your finger across the screen to see the previous or next swing in your log.

Q:  How do I save my “Best Swing”?

A touch of the Marking Button allows you to mark the current swing as your Best Swing.  By touching the Marking Button, you can also mark the current swing as either a Slice or Hook.  If you’d like to note some other characteristic of your current swing you can customize your comments by selecting Custom Annotate.

Q:  Can I save a ‘Best Swing” for each club in the bag?

Yes.  The SwingSmart™ lets you save "your Best Swing" for every club in your bag.  Additionally, you can annotate any swing you take (i.e., hook, slice, new grip, flop shot, etc...).  Finally, you can take any swing in your swing log and email it to anybody you choose. If they have the free SwingSmart™ App on their smartphone or tablet they will be able to view your swing just as if they were there with you.

Q:  What happens if I change clubs in my bag?  Will I lose all my saved swings for the clubs that no longer are in my bag?

Because all data required by SwingSmart to analyze your swing is stored in the swing log itself, no swing logs will be affected by club deletion.

Q:  Why does the golfer disappear when I replay my swing?

SwingSmart can do a lot, but we can’t tell you what your body position is during the swing (at least, not YET). So, rather than show you something that isn’t accurate, we only display the golfer figure at address as a point of reference.

Q:  When will I be able to get a SwingSmart for my Android device?

The SwingSmart™ App for Android is being tested now, and will be released to the Google Play store within the next 2 weeks! Thanks for your patience - we're working as fast as we can!
