One Golf Fanatic’s Story:  The Ideal Golf Swing Aid

Plus, Peter Kostis' Contribution to SwingSmart Golf Analyzer below . . .

"It was at the 2006 PGA Championship where I noticed a Tour player who was struggling.  After the opening round he was 8 over par.  He immediately went to find the magic elixir on the range with his coach, who literally took the Tour player’s golf club -- and moved it step by step through the swing.

It hit me – a professional golfer who clearly knows how to swing still needs some reminders, tips, instruction – FEEDBACK!

Then, why do we think we can go hit 50 buckets of balls and improve?   If the pros need this kind of help and hands-on interaction, how can we amateurs ever hope to play better?  We need similar access to high-quality feedback.

Being somewhat of a golf fanatic, I used to take my video camera and laptop out to the golf course (yes,  that was me).

I would set it up, take some swings and then review the video on the laptop.  It was a lot of running back and forth (plus, embarrassing when I saw the funny looks from fellow golfers.).   But as I saw flaws in my golf swing, I’d go back and try to make adjustments.

But dragging all this equipment to the golf course wasn’t the ideal situation.  There had to be a better way, so I started searching for the right resources to create the solution.

My requirements for a golf swing aid were:

  1. Needs to be cool to use, to eliminate any embarrassment (think “Tin Cup”) on the course.
  2. Had to provide helpful INSTANT feedback, so I could just: Swing . . . Look at the numbers . . . Swing . . . Look.
  3. Had to be small and portable
  4. And it had to not interfere with the way I play golf.

I think you’ll be pretty excited about analyzing the mechanics of your golf swing for immediate improvement like you’ve never been able to do before."

About Peter Kostis and the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer

Peter Kostis, a top teaching pro and CBS Golf Analyst, provided important input during development of the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer.

Kostis is an expert at keeping it simple -- and he knows golfers want a swing aid that won’t get in the way.  That’s why the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer has been designed to let you set your iPhone or iPad on your bag, take a swing, and INSTANTLY see the information on the SwingSmart App.

That’s also why you’ll find only the most useful golf swing information on the SwingSmart App.  Just 4 key statistics – plus the 3D Swing View -- give you everything you need to compare and improve your golf swing.

When Peter took a look at the SwingSmart Golf Analyzer, he saw the value in it immediately.  And that’s saying a lot for a top pro that’s considered a proponent of golf motion.

“You can use your own best swing as your swing model to pursue.  When you hit one just the way you want to hit it for the rest of your life – SAVE it with the SwingSmart App – and now you have a swing model.”
